Medefo operates a nursery that supplies a diverse range of seeds and seedlings, including Calina dwarf papaya, mint, stevia, Irish potatoes, and bell peppers. She integrates her fisheries operations with her nursery to create a circular economy, effectively eliminating waste and promoting sustainability. Her innovative “ZERO WASTE” model empowers farmers, transforming agriculture into viable business opportunities while enhancing food security. Heirloom harvest

A - Fish Farming Technology

Tank Culture & Smart Recirculatory Aquaculture Systems (RAS): We are introducing a new reform in fish farming tank-based culture combined with smart recirculatory aquaculture systems. This technology helps Farmers : Produce fish with less water and space, monitor water quality in real time, automate feeding & oxygen levels, and increase efficiency, sustainability, and profit.

Fish Processing & Value Addition: To add value to fish harvests, we use eco-friendly ovens that produce dried/smoked fish free from excess smoke and unpleasant smell and packaging: healthy and hygienic drying process, long shelf life, and market-ready products.

Aquaculture Packages: We provide different packaging options to suit all farmers: Full Systems (complete aquaculture set-up with monitoring devices), starter Kits (affordable solutions for beginners), accessories (fish feed, water sensors, tanks, and more).

B - Paw Paw Seedlings

Our Calina Dwarf papaya seedlings are carefully raised to ensure high survival rates, early fruiting, and strong resistance to pests and diseases. Perfect for smallholder farmers, backyard growers, and commercial plantations.

Characteristics
1. Compact Growth Habit: Grows to about 3 to 4 feet, ideal for small spaces.
2. Vigorous Growth: Exhibits strong, sturdy stems and excellent fruit-setting ability.
3. Early Maturity: Fruits mature approximately 8 months after planting.
4. Fruit Quality: Average weight: 1.7 to 2.3 kg, thick flesh with an attractive red color, very sweet flavor.
5. Disease Resistance: Good level of virus resistance, contributing to plant health.
6. Growing Conditions: Prefers well-drained soil and full sunlight; requires regular watering.
7. Excellent Fruit Setting Ability: Strong ability to produce fruit efficiently.
8. Strong Thick Stems: Ensures stability and support for fruit production.
9. Nutritional Benefits: Rich in vitamins A, C, and E, as well as dietary fiber.
10. Pollination: Can be male, female, or hermaphroditic; hermaphroditic plants are ideal for self-pollination.
